Sunny days at last. The second Ballarat meeting for the season was greeted with sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. This must have appealed to the locals as spectator numbers were up and Coach Catering were flat out trying to keep up with demand.

Several competition vehicles were on hand to provide entertainment for the crowd between eliminations. Craig Geddes's B/A was out for a few launches to prepare for the up coming Nationals, Kenny Stewart had a few runs in his immaculately presented Fuchs modified dragster and Phil and Sam Parker made some exhibition passes on their competition bikes.

Super Gas - Danny Bardel
With only two entrants fronting for the Super Gas bracket, Danny Bardel and Neil Hendry matched raced over three rounds for the trophy. Round 1 went to the Subaru Vortex of Hendry. Neil couldn't keep the momentum going and Danny Bardel took the next two rounds with his 355 Chev powered Holden Gemini.

Top 16 - Andrew Francis

Andrew Francis, Ballarat regular and previous best presented winner took out the Top 16 bracket in his 350 Chev powered Celica. Francis defeated Andrew Sanders in the first semi final, with Sanders hazing the tyres in his high stepping turbo charged Centura. In the second semi, Stephen Griffin's Torana defeated the FJ Holden of Jim Fitzgibbon. Due to a breakage in the previous paring, both finalists ran a solo and who ever was closest to their dial in would take the win. Andrew Francis was up first and ran an 8.15 on and 8.05 dial in. Stephen Griffin broke out in his solo handing the win to Francis.

Quick 16 - Kym Hutcheson
It was another Ballarat regular, Kym Hutcheson, who beat all comers to win the Quick 16 bracket. After two rounds of racing, semi finalists were Russell Meadows with his Mark 2 Ford Cortina, Colin Block in an HJ One Tonner, the VB Commodore of Kym Hutcheson and Mick Dittko's XD Falcon. Colin Block defeated Meadows in the first semi, while Kym Hutcheson took out Dittko in the second semi. Unfortunately for Block, the trans in the One Tonner gave up in the final and Hutcheson took the win with a solo. Kym also won the burnout competition, with 60' rolling burnouts every time he came out to play.

Street - Adam Gornalle
With 10 competitors on hand for the first round of street, the final came down to a battle between Scott Mckay in his turbo charged, Nissan powered VL Commodore and Adam Gornalle's 302 Chev powered Holden Monaro. Adam took the win from the start, out reacting McKay and beating him to the stripe.
